It is foreseen that each and every section of the society shall use Information Technology as a service in future. The digital divide between computer literate and illiterates is increasing day by day. The Union Government of the day is increasing using governance in its day-to-day operation whereby delivery of such citizen centric services can be given to the end users effectively. Thus the Government shall become sensitive, responsive and citizen friendly
Objectives
⦁ Provide Computer training to children from Sewa Bastis to make them self reliant
⦁ Impart “SANSKARS” (values) in them
⦁ Remove the digital gap between computer literate and illiterates
Sewa Bharti has now taken up task to remove the digital divide between computer literate and illiterates by opening, supporting and making available computer centres in Sewa Bastis and giving computer education, training and knowledge of Information Technology. The main objectives behind computer center project is to provide computer training to boys and girls of Sewa Bastis, rehabilitated bastis and backward regions to make them self-reliant and to impart “SANSKARS” in them.
OperationS
At present, there are 29 computer centres in Delhi Region where computer training is provided to boys and girls of Sewa Basti’s, rehabilitated bastis and backward regions to make them self-reliant and to impart “SANSKARS” in them. At present 3318 students are getting training in these centres, out of which 1616 are boys and 1702 are girls. These students are being taught by 36 teachers and 19 trainees. Placement facility is also provided to them. Discussions are organized on social, religious, patriotic and different issues on regular basis to impart “SANSKAR” to them. Five new centres have been started this year.
